MCD report on Monday revealed that out of 11 reported cases of Dengue, 10 were untraceable. Despite the instructions from the public health department, the officials state that details of all the diagnosed patients, including their addresses, many government hospitals have not reported the cases of Vector-borne disease in a pre-designed format. The officials claim that the situation is causing difficulties for entomologists in investigation and civic bodies in implementing corrective measures.

In 2022, a total of 111 dengue cases have been reported till May, of which 75 patients are untraceable. However, in 2021, a total of 9,613 cases of dengue were reported with 2,917 cases registered without complete address. Similar situations have been reported for the years 2020 and 2019.

To control the situation and further surge in disease, the civic body officials have requested residents to take much-needed measures such as avoiding water collection to control mosquito breeding, etc. With torrential rain across the city, officials state that the task has become even more crucial.
